Artifacts is a refereed journal of undergraduate work produced in all Writing Intensive and composition courses at the University of Missouri. The journal celebrates writing in all its forms by inviting student authors to submit projects composed across different genres and media. Artifacts promotes a public exchange of ideas by providing MU students with audiences outside their own classrooms. Additionally, faculty in all disciplines are invited to view Artifacts as a potential site for collaborative teaching projects.
The essays, reviews, and media texts featured in Artifacts are chosen from a range of Writing Intensive and composition courses, from introductory classes to senior capstone courses within individual majors. Projects are selected not because they meet some universal standards for writing but because they meet with creativity and intelligence the particular demands of given assignments. Artifacts is a collaborative effort of faculty who are affiliated with the Campus Writing Program. Each board member plays an active role in selecting texts for publication, choosing the journal’s digital design, and setting future goals.

MU Libraries Undergraduate Research Paper Contest
The MU Libraries Undergraduate Research Paper Contest seeks to recognize and reward outstanding research conducted by undergraduate students at the University of Missouri. Any undergraduate in any discipline is invited to enter the contest, which will be judged by a cross-disciplinary panel of librarians, members of The Friends of the MU Libraries, and MU faculty members.
The first- and second-prize winners will receive a $1000 and $500 prize and will have their submission archived in MOspace, MU’s digital repository. Learn more about the submission process.
Established in 2012, QCW is a refereed journal that publishes essays and multimedia work by undergraduate students affiliated with any post-secondary institution. We also publish reviews, snapshots of writers, and comments (visit our submission page for more info). Issues are published twice a year in fall and spring.
Our goal is to create a freely accessible online resource that both showcases the outstanding critical work that students are doing and functions as a repository of source material appropriate for classroom use.
