MU Libraries Undergraduate Research Paper Contest

The MU Libraries Undergraduate Research Paper Contest seeks to recognize and reward outstanding research conducted by undergraduate students at the University of Missouri. Any undergraduate in any discipline is invited to enter the contest, which will be judged by a cross-disciplinary panel of librarians, members of The Friends of the MU Libraries, and MU faculty members.

The first- and second-prize winners will receive a $500 and $250 prize, will orally present their papers at Ellis Library, and will have video of their presentations and their papers archived in MOspace, MU’s digital repository. Read More

Catfish Creek

Catfish Creek, the national undergraduate literary journal of Loras College, is intended as a showcase for undergraduate writers from across the country and around the world. We welcome submissions of fiction, poetry, and literary nonfiction.


Established in 2012, QCW is a refereed journal that publishes essays and multimedia work by undergraduate students affiliated with any post-secondary institution. We also publish reviews, snapshots of writers, and comments (visit our submission page for more info). Issues are published twice a year in fall and spring.

We seek thought-provoking pieces from any disciplinary perspective that explore questions and problems related to writing, rhetoric, reading, pedagogy and teacher-training, literacy broadly conceived, popular culture and media, community discourses, and multimodal and digital composing. We expect that the work will be informed by critical conversations relevant to the topic–that is, composers should incorporate timely, pertinent research to support claims. In addition, we welcome projects that experiment with form, voice, style, and delivery.

Our goal is to create a freely accessible online resource that both showcases the outstanding critical work that students are doing and functions as a repository of source material appropriate for classroom use.
